A. User Account Data (via Telegram)
When you use Confident Budget, we authenticate you via your Telegram account. We verify and store the following public Telegram information:
- Telegram User ID (Unique identifier)
- First Name & Last Name
- Username
- Profile Photo URL
- Language Code
B. Financial Data
To provide our core services (budgeting and expense tracking), we collect and store:
- Accounts: Names, types (asset, liability, etc.), and balances.
- Transactions: Dates, amounts, payees, and descriptions.
- Budgets: Configuration of budget periods, limits, and categories.
- Import Data: CSV files and parsed transaction data you upload for import.
C. AI & Usage Data
If you use our AI features (e.g., chat assistant):
- Chat History: To ensure the AI can understand the context of your requests, we retain a limited history of your most recent interactions (up to the last 15 messages). Older messages are automatically discarded and are not permanently stored.
- Usage Logs: We track the number of tokens used, models accessed, and associated costs to manage your usage limits.
- Input Data: Text and data you submit to the AI assistant is processed to generate responses.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service: Store and organize your financial records.
- Authenticate Users: Securely log you in via Telegram.
- AI Assistance: Process your queries to provide financial insights and automated categorization.
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns (e.g., error rates, feature popularity) to fix bugs and enhance performance.

- AI Providers: When you use AI features, the text of your query and necessary context (which may include transaction details you provide in that specific chat) are sent to third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers for processing.
- AI Processing: While we send data to LLM providers to generate responses, we utilize enterprise-grade APIs where available to ensure your data is not used to train the providers’ foundational models.
5. Data Retention and Security
- Retention: We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time.
- Security: We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

- Access: Viewing your data within the application.
- Correction: Updating your data (e.g., editing transactions).
